The detail that makes a Maltese ceiling — LED troughs, coves, bulkheads and boxing-in.
The trough round the edge of a Maltese living room — the perimeter drop with the LED strip washing the ceiling — is the detail every finished flat here has and every shell wants. It is a framing job as much as a boarding one: the drop, the return, the lip that hides the strip, and the bulkhead where a beam or a duct has to be boxed in. It works with the room-height rule because a trough covers a fraction of the ceiling area, not the whole of it.
No Maltese contractor publishes a per-metre rate for troughs or bulkheads, and we will not import an Italian one. Each is drawn, measured and quoted on site, with the electrician's strip and driver positions agreed before the board goes on.
Quoted on site, per metre of trough or bulkhead, against a drawing. Malta publishes no installed rate for these; the material is a few euros a metre in board and channel, the labour is the price.
| Job | Unit | Band | What is in it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Light trough / cove | metre | quoted on site | quoted on site |
| Bulkhead or boxing-in | metre | quoted on site | around beams, ducts and pipes; quoted on site |
| Plain false ceiling | m² | quoted on site | standard board is €6.82–15.78 a sheet (about €4.40 per m²) plus channel at €4.50–4.92 a length; labour has no published Maltese figure — quoted on site |
A band, not a quote: the low end is a straightforward job with clear access, the high end is the same job with the complications a site visit finds. Materials are included where the line says so.
You deal with us, not with the trade. We measure, we quote a fixed price, we bring in a gypsum contractor from the CheckYourTraders-verified network, and we stand behind the work. One point of contact, one contract, one invoice.
